Archer’s Favorite Eateries + Bars In + Around Florham Park

J’eet yet?

Bloody marys, old fashioneds, margaritas. Hot dogs and hoagies, pierogies and pork rolls. Clams, disco fries and saltwater taffy. While these classically Jersey noshes and sips define the Garden State’s plate, northern New Jersey has many flavors that tempt. These Morris County-favorite eateries and bars in and around Florham Park have welcoming tables, savory selections and cold pours.

And don't forget to book your luxe stay at the chic, boutique Archer Hotel Florham Park.

Eateries Worth Their Salt

Nonna’s Italian Restaurant — Best homemade pizza in Florham Park! This family-owned, casual eatery has a large menu with specialty pies and calzones, hot and cold heroes, panini and pasta, plus old Italian favorites. Hosting a large party? Nonna’s delivers.

The Thirsty Turtle — With a well-rounded food menu and 22 taps pouring seasonal, local and new release beers, plus martinis, crafted libations, whiskey and cordials, this Florham Park gathering place attracts families, sports fans, senior citizens and millennials alike. A gluten-free menu and a kids’ menu round out the options.

AKB Florham Park — Begin your day with a piping-hot java and signature açai bowl, and enjoy the evening with Archer’s favorite burger topped with bacon and shallot hash, plus a crafted cocktail, curated wine or local brew and a round (or two) of billiards.

Luigi’s — In East Hanover, Old World recipes from the Puglia region of Italy have been passed down through generations to fill plates and hearts. The fettuccini con aragosta, pollo martini or salmone Genovese — hard to choose one, easy to love all three.

Il Mondo Vecchio — A modern take on fine Italian dining pairs well with a BYO atmosphere and some killer desserts in nearby Madison. Impress clients, VIPs and significant others: Start with the mozzarella di buffalo con pomodori and finish with out-of-this-world crème brûlée.

Jockey Hollow — Morristown’s American bar and kitchen set in the Vail Mansion (a 1917 landmark) includes a three-section fine dining room, an oyster bar, a storied rathskeller and a 1920s-style cocktail lounge. Owner Chris Cannon is responsible for details big and small — artwork, furniture, glasses, you name it — as well as the monumental wine program that’s earned the restaurant an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator.

End of Elm — Morristown’s vibrant gastropub is ideal for brunch and gathering with friends. Tailored plates and craft cocktails complement the inviting atmosphere. Have you tried the burrata with lentils, spinach, sofrito and crostini? Or the EOE Burger with caramelized onions, Gruyere fondue and fries? You should.

The Office — Carefully crafted, classic American comfort food with modern twists, plus 40ish rotating beer, prosecco and root beer taps, make The Office a favorite Morristown spot. Every month also features Road Trip USA — with signature drinks, apps and entrees from a particular state.

Inspiration Roll — Specializing in ramen, sushi burritos, poke bowls and salads, order from the signature creations or build your own masterpiece. Sides include Confucius nachos, J.K. Rowling fries, Take a Bao steamed buns and gyoza dumplings.

Rod’s Steak & Seafood Grille — Missing “The Sopranos”? Fuhgettaboutit — if you’re at Rod’s, you’re in the right place. Rich wood paneling and highly polished brass lend a classic elegance to the sophisticated dining experience. And don’t forget the wine; the restaurant is a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence winner 20 times over.

Beenie’s Ice Cream — Named after the owner’s dog, the best ice cream shop in Morristown features homemade and seasonal flavors. They hand-make the ice cream every day, paying attention to the creaminess and texture while incorporating artistic flavors.

Best Bets for Bars

AKB Florham Park — Archer’s welcoming bar and eatery is a local gathering spot for after-work get-togethers and before (and after) evening outings. The drink menu includes classic cocktails (negroni, paloma, gin basil smash), well-traveled bubbles and wines (Italy, New Zealand, Argentina) and — on the sweeter side — a salted caramel bourbon shake.

Iron Bar — Two floors of nightlife and special events make Iron Bar a magnet for fun. The downstairs dance club has live DJs, light shows and nightly events and features bottle service, The VIP Lounge, Sidebar and a private party space. Reservations are strongly suggested for Trivia Tuesdays, which include $5 tacos and drink specials.

Horseshoe Tavern — Morristown’s Western-themed bar features live music and homemade bar food. Enjoy weekly live music and try your hand at Skee-Ball, shoot-out basketball and darts.

The Laundromat — Morristown’s speakeasy appears to be a laundromat; enter through the secret door and enjoy the yummy cocktails and live music in the relaxed atmosphere. The bar is open Wednesday through Saturday to patrons 23 and up.

Revolution — The industrial-chic gastropub serves a rotation of specialty seasonal and craft beers (more than 40 on tap) along with exceptional German-inspired pub grub. The Bavarian pretzel served with cheese fondue and whole-grain mustard pairs well with a frosty beverage. Enjoy live music every Wednesday, Rye Day every Friday and Brewsday Tuesday every second Tuesday of the month.

Grasshopper Off the Green — Morristown’s vibrant Irish pub and restaurant has three floors, is family friendly and is open year-round. Watch live sports or enjoy nightly entertainment — live bands, karaoke, DJ and dancing — with a Killian’s in hand and Irish pub nachos to share.
