Jacob’s Pickles (Upper West) — Bloody BLT
The Bloody BLT at this Southern comfort-food joint bursts with flavor and texture. It’s super-spicy and comes with half of a deviled egg, bacon and a piece of lettuce. I’m a sucker for anything served in a mason jar. And such a great name, eh?
Dante (West Village) — All Day Bloody Mary
Bar Stanley at Neiman Marcus Hudson Yards — The Smoked Snapper
This cocktail bar is tucked inside the department store on the second floor. All of the cocktails are made well here; but the Smoked Snapper is their savory take on the bloody mary. It has the perfect peppery kick to keep you shopping longer.
King Cole Bar at the St. Regis (Midtown East) — The Red Snapper
Something about this bar is so iconically New York: the beautiful mural, the name of its bloody (The Red Snapper), a more “proper” choice. Fernand Petiot, the creator of the bloody mary, brought it to the St. Regis in the early 1930s. And this classic bloody mary has qualified as a staple ever since.
It a packs a punch, is always a “double” and arrives garnished with black pepper and celery.
Bespoke Kitchen (West Village) — Mary's Walk of Shame
This is my official “hair of the dog” selection: Mary's Walk of Shame. It's certainly the most over-the-top bloody mary I've ever experienced — a classic bloody topped with maple sausage, a slab of bacon and a mini grilled cheese sandwich (yes, a mini grilled cheese sandwich).
And no, it's not for the faint of heart.
Charlie Palmer Steak at Archer Hotel (Garment District) — The Bloody Mary
By many, many accounts, our in-house bloody mary is yummy. Stop in at Charlie Palmer Steak, the Foyer Bar or Spyglass Rooftop Bar and taste for yourself. Or come for brunch (10:30 AM - 3:30 PM Saturdays and Sundays) and enjoy your bloody mary alongside one of the great brunches in midtown.
