No Bad Grades at Culinary Dropout

Everyone likes a rebel.

This ain’t your mother’s restaurant. Chefs with attitude and serious personal style pump out show-stopping dishes, while skinny-jeaned mixologists pour cocktails with amped up attitude. Read on to find out why we give a passing grade to these dropouts.

In this show kitchen, it’s all rock and roll. The chefs pump out banging versions of bar basics like BBQ Pork Belly Nachos, havarti-bacon-barbecue burgers and pretzel bites with provolone fondue. These gastronomic delights aren’t all show either, sauces are made in-house and ingredients are sustainably sourced. Their devotion to serving great food shows that scratch-made doesn’t need to come with a side of pomp.

Colorful “Vices” are the star of the drink menu here, and they run the gamut. The flirty and fun Room Service 11 uses gin, strawberries, and Prosecco to swat away the Austin heat. Opposite the pink drink is the 3 Bitter Manhattan. This manly blend of George Dickel Rye, Carpano Antica, and three types of bitters will put a pep in your step and some heat in your chest. If you shy away from the hard stuff, they also have a good selection of beer on draft and in cans, along with a selection of wine by the glass.

Austin fun meets backyard chill at this Domain NORTHSIDE patio. Spend hours playing a game of ping pong, cornhole or foosball with friends. If you are not feeling up to playing, find a cozy spot on one of the sectionals or colored lawn furniture and catch up over a fireside chat and cocktails.
