Best Burgers in the Greater Boston Area

Top-notch burger noshing ahead

Classically dressed or unusually accoutered? Piled high or beautifully bite-sized? The quintessential burger depends on your perspective. For the best burgers in the greater Boston area, look to Archer’s faves, which are varied yet verifiably mouthwatering. Here’s his short list of the best burgers that are long on taste.

B.Good

“Food should be good for you and good for the planet.” With this ethos, B.Good explores new flavors sourced from local farms and national partners to create a really great burger experience.

In Burlington, spice it up with the Bacon Cheeseburger (with antibiotic-free beef, cheddar, bacon, avocado and B.Good sauce), the Power Play (with cheddar, bacon, egg and avocado) or the BBQ Beyond Burger (with cheddar, jalapeño slaw and pickled red onions). A side of buffalo cauliflower bites with ranch or blue cheese hits the spot.

WUBurger

About 5 miles from Archer Hotel Burlington is WUBurger in Woburn. This diner-style restaurant consciously sources its ingredients to offer “fresh food served fast.” Choose from a Martin’s Potato or Sesame roll (nice to have an option), then decide on a WUBurger (with house sauce), hamburger, turkey burger or veggie burger. Everyone raves about the waffle fries with a side of dipping cheese — yes, please.

Wahlburgers

With several locales in the greater Boston area, Lynnfield is home to the Wahlburgers closest to Burlington. Owned by the Wahlberg brothers (executive chef Paul and actors-singers Mark and Donnie), this burger restaurant serves up burgers with a variety of toppings (think sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onion, avocado spread), starters and sides (try the tots flight) and house-made shakes.

Tasty Burger

Head to Boston’s Harvard Square, Back Bay or Fenway for a fun late-night spot serving classic burgers with various tasty add-ons. Try Tasty Burger‘s “starvin’ student” deal — a hamburger or cheeseburger with a side of fries and a tall-boy beer, all for a Hamilton. Want to share a side? Go for the Totchos (tater tots topped with Tasty chili, cheese sauce, sour cream tomatoes and scallions.
