The Inspiration
A Cocktail Napkin
Sometimes cocktail napkins are just napkins. And sometimes napkins are condensation-ringed, serendipitous callings from the cosmic unknown — inviting you to take inventory of your complicated, wonderful day. Archer knows the magic in all of it. So, as a muse to those moments, we invited our talented bar teams to create 12 Months of Cocktails inspired by our beloved napkin series.
The Recipe
Look at you — you’re at a bar drinking a cocktail like poets and outlaws. Just like the eclectic guests that visit Archer Hotel Austin, this drink blends the easy warm sip of the bourbon with the sweet and bitter cherry and orange flavors. The unique addition of the candied baguette invites friends to break bread together while sharing stories.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces Larceny bourbon
- 1/2-ounce Heering cherry liqueur
- 2 dashes of orange bitters
- Thinly sliced baguette
Directions
Add bourbon, cherry liqueur and orange bitters into an old-fashioned glass. Slightly chill stirring 5-10 revolutions and strain into glass. Express orange peel and garnish. Toss the baguette slice in simple syrup, then bake to a golden brown. Top off the cocktail with the candied baguette hinged over the glass.
Cheers!
