Roasted sweet potatoes A Holiday Recipe from Chef Mario

The Inspiration

Ah, the sweet potato.

The classic side dish is a colorful, flavorful addition to your holiday menu. When you’re looking for a surefire way to wow your family and friends this Thanksgiving, skip the marshmallow topping and opt for a simple roasted sweet potato recipe.

AKB Austin’s chef de cuisine Mario Medina’s Thanksgiving menu always includes sweet potatoes — at both AKB and home. Since chef Mario typically spends the day preparing the feast for guests, he usually enjoys his Thanksgiving meal with family or friends the day before or after the holiday.

“I look forward to preparing the AKB Thanksgiving meal as much as I do cooking for my family,” said chef Mario. “I like this recipe because it’s simple and delicious — and I love sweet potatoes any time of year.”

Easy to make, easier to eat — make this easy recipe at home for your holiday get-together. Or join us at AKB Austin for Thanksgiving and enjoy all the holiday fixin’s.
