Austin’s Best Patio Culture in Domain NORTHSIDE

Get ready to soak it all up: It’s summertime, and Austin’s best patio culture is in Domain NORTHSIDE. North Austin’s thriving upscale outdoor mall is a hoppin’ destination neighborhood that’s not only home to the award-winning Archer Hotel Austin, it also has plenty of patio fun for everyone — and their dog.

So plan a downtown Austin visit for another day, and get ready to drink it all in — in north Austin’s Domain NORTHSIDE.

Bakery Lorraine For the caffeine fanatic

This sweet (and savory) sidewalk café around the corner from Archer Hotel Austin is a lovely spot to stop for a morning cappuccino, an afternoon cold brew or a get-ready-to-go-out double espresso. Naturally, the Parisian macarons, pain au chocolat or bread pudding at Bakery Lorraine may tempt you while you’re waiting for your brew. You only live once, you know.

Culinary Dropout For family-friendly fun

Culinary Dropout is across the street from Archer Hotel Austin and right off the green space in Domain NORTHSIDE. The cool, quirky patio is open-air yet covered, with fun lighting, plenty of seating and kid-friendly, date-friendly things to do, like cornhole and table tennis. Grab a cold beverage of choice, enjoy the buzzy atmosphere and order some grub — it’s all really good. And yes, bring Fido.

Doc B's For good eats + drinks

With a large outdoor patio that’s dog-friendly and has great ambiance, Doc B’s is a fun place to grab a bite with friends. The menu is vegetarian-friendly, with vegan and gluten-free options available. There’s also a starter called “Our ‘Famous’ Candied Bacon” — Coleman’s bacon dressed up with sugar and cayenne (order that). The food that follows is as delicious as the service is good. And the desserts? Yes, please.

Flower Child For a delicious, healthy meal

From-scratch healthy food that tastes as good as it looks? Head to Flower Child and find your happy place. Whether vegetarian, vegan, paleo or just hungry, guests rave about the Flying Avocado wrap with turkey, the Mother Earth bowl and the Chopped Vegetable salad. Enjoy yours outside on the patio with a refreshing lemonade or a kombucha on tap.

The Dogwood For an elevated (rooftop) experience

With the owner’s grandmother’s favorite tree as the logo, it’s only natural that The Dogwood would highlight outdoor entertaining. And that it does — with open-air patios that flow easily into spacious interiors with plenty of natural wood and stone. The rooftop patio overlooks Rock Rose, so order an ice-cold Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka poured straight from a frosted ice tap and enjoy the view.

Yard House For the beer lover

“Where beer & food lovers unite.” Yes, indeed, Yard House has a ginormous draft beer selection (125 on tap) that rivals most breweries in Austin while complementing the also-large American-style food menu. If you’re going for the beer, sizes include shorties, pints, goblets and half-yards. The patio is a great place to people watch while enjoying a cold one.

Valencia's Tex-Mex Garage For Margaritas

What’s better than sipping frozen margaritas on the patio at Valencia’s Tex-Mex Garage? Pairing them with a side of Texas loaded queso, seafood ceviche or chipotle deviled eggs. Never mind that there’s an entire margarita menu to choose from — classic, swirl, fruit, champagne and plenty of specialty ’ritas. You can add floaters (think amaretto, Cointreau, Grand Marnier and the like). Sí — we like.

Pool Patio at Archer Hotel Austin For Texas-chic splash

In the heart of Domain NORTHSIDE, the pool patio at Archer Hotel Austin has it all. Thirsty? The bar offers a curated collection of cocktails, beer, wine and zero-proofs. Need something to eat? Gourmet eats from AKB Austin include sharable snacks (the truffle fries with parmesan and aioli are yummy), sensational brick oven pizzas (fig + prosciutto pizza with three cheeses, anyone?) and vibrant cuisine with Texas flavor and Archer flair (try the AKB Cheeseburger with cheddar, slow-cooked onions and special AKB sauce).

Cool off in the star-bottomed splash pool, or grab some shade and a bit of privacy in a comfy cabana. The fireplace brings a sense of romance, while the ginormous TV is perfect for the big game.
