Best Burgers In Napa Valley

Bite into Archer’s favorites

Juicy, seared, fresh, local. Crisp lettuce, warm bun and the perfect meat-to-bun ratio. Just the right amount of cheese. And the sauce (the possibilities are endless). The best burgers in Napa Valley are out there, with your name on ’em — and Archer’s rounded up his favorites to help you find yours.

Napa

Andie’s Cafe (Napa) — This small, family-owned business serves up some of the best burgers in Napa Valley. Ground fresh daily and cooked to order, the 1/3-pound beauty has been described as “a Napa gem” that underpromises and overdelivers (“just yummy”).

Boon Fly Café (Napa) — The Akaushi Kobe beef burger is a must-try. It comes on a house-made poppy seed bun and a choice of fries or baby greens. Then, add your choice of cheese, avocado, bacon, mushrooms and egg. Veggie-friendly guests will love substituting the beef burger for the vegan Beyond Burger.

Squeeze Inn Hamburgers (Napa) — With one owner and a friendly staff, this extremely affordable one-of-a-kind burger joint is a must visit in Napa Valley. A “skirt” of melted cheese (about a ¼ pound of shredded cheddar) covers the 100% beef patty. Fold the cheese, roll it up or snack on it at will — the crunchy, gooey, cheesy skirt wins the day.

Sky & Vine® Rooftop Bar (Napa) — Indulge in the double-patty SV Burger and fries atop Archer Hotel Napa. Grilled onions, American cheese, special (secret) sauce and house-made pickles on a yummy brioche bun make this burger a locals’ favorite.

Around Napa

Gott’s Roadside (Napa, St. Helena) Founded in California by two brothers, Gott’s uses locally sourced ingredients and purveyors (e.g., Niman Ranch, Zoe’s Meats, Panorama Bakery, Osprey Seafood). Don’t worry about long lines; they move fast. And vegetarians can switch out the beef patty for an Impossible Burger patty — still crazy-good.

Hop Creek Pub (Brown’s Valley, Napa) — This great family-owned restaurant is kid- and pet-friendly, as well. Kiddos can order a mini burger with Niman Ranch natural grass-fed beef, and the big kids can choose from six burgers, including one of the best burgers in Napa Valley: the Brew’sed Black ’N’ Bleu with blackened Cajun seasoning and applewood smoked bacon.

R+D Kitchen (Yountville) — The Honor Burger at R+D is consistently a great (big) burger: fresh ground chuck, melted cheddar and tomato and a barbecue glaze. Plus, it’s also topped with a generous amount of some of the best coleslaw around. Order a side of fries or dip duo (with jalapeño queso and guac plus chips) and you won’t leave hungry.
