Best bets for brunch In Napa

A few of our favorites

Planning a trip to Napa Valley? There’s a good chance you’ll be sleeping in after a glorious day of wine tasting. Is there a better way to prepare for another adventurous day ahead than to partake in a beautiful brunch? We think not.

We’ve asked trusted locals (some of whom are on the Archer Hotel Napa team) for their suggestions on where to go in Napa for a yummy brunch. These spots earned the most recommendations.

Best bets for brunch

Kitchen Door — Brunch is served 10 AM – 1 PM Saturday – Sunday in its First Street Napa home with the vibrant red doors. Led by famed chef Todd Humphries, the menu features seasonal, local, handmade comfort food with global influences. To try: Chilaquiles Rojos with tortilla, chili sauce, onion, Rancho Gordo pinquito beans, avocado queso fresco, chipotle lime crema, cilantro and sunny side up eggs.

Jax White Mule Diner — Brunch (“the epitome of luxurious weekend dining”) is the specialty at Jax. The Swimming Benny is served with smoked salmon, poached eggs and roasted tomato on an English muffin with a rich hollandaise. To try: Chilaquiles with braised pork, queso fresco and cilantro lime crema, two salsas and sunny-side-up eggs with corn tortilla chips and Bottle Rock Tots served with chipotle aioli.

Le Cheve Bakery and Brews — For authentic Mexican food served in a homey atmosphere, look no further than Le Cheve. High on the local-favorite list is Los Boozy Pastries and the Burrito de Chorizo. Weekends only, order the Flan French Toast or Chile Verde Benedicto. To try: La Mama Chole Feliz — half hot chocolate, half hot coffee and a shot of Sabe tequila.

Grace’s Table — Focusing on France, Italy and the Americas, Grace’s Table serves interesting comfort foods in this cheerful bistro. Recipes were inspired and perfected by Chef Mauro Pando’s background, education and extensive travels. To try: Argentine Empanada with hand-cut beef, currants, olive, hard egg and chimichurri sauce.

Southside Century — South Napa is home to this coffee house and café serving Latin-inspired California cuisine. Enjoy coffee from Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters on the patio while perusing the chef-driven menu. To try: Tostada Rancheros con Carnitas with smoked pork shoulder and poached eggs.

Winston’s Café & Bakery — With an all-day menu that serves brunch till 1 PM, Winston’s serves seasonal, farm-to-table breakfast and lunch cuisine. It’s also the home of Paulie’s famous bagels. To try: Deviled Egg Salad with pickled shallots dill and radish on a whole wheat bagel.

Sky & Vine Rooftop Bar — The valley’s favorite rooftop experience includes Sunday alfresco brunch with live music — a beautiful way to start the day. Begin with bottomless bacon bloody marys, prawn micheladas or mimosas (for up to two hours). Beignets with bourbon caramel sauce satisfy sweet-toothed guests, while Baked Oysters with Parmesan-garlic aioli cover the savory bases. To try: The Napa-famous Lobster Corn Dogs with spicy caper remoulade.
